ProfileBased in Cumbria, Andrew Kay is an award winning sculptor whose work can be seen throughout the UK. He is commissioned by private customers and commercial bodies. Each specific piece is created to exacting standards and is wholly original to the client. Andrew Kay & Company specialises in one off commissions ranging from rural garden features to urban public works. The work is predominantly created from ferrous and non ferrous metals although timber and stone are also used. “We pride ourselves in the diversity of our folio and our ability to interpret your ideas into reality. From design inception to final installation, we work closely with you to achieve a piece of work that we are all justly proud of.” |
About Andrew KayHaving graduated with a degree in Design from Leeds in 1992 Andrew toured Scandinavia extensively on a travel scholarship. From this experience he acquired a respect of the pure design ethos that is so apparent in Scandinavian design. He also spent some time working on an Arctic trawler that wasn’t quite so pure. He returned to England, and with this design ethos to inspire him started a sculpture workshop in the Lune Valley. During the last 15 years the workshop has moved twice, each time into larger premises, and he is now based near Kirkby Lonsdale in Cumbria. The workshop has ready access to the A65 to Leeds and the M6 is 5 miles away. |
